Women & Child Welfare Society (WCWS) is a registered non-profit helping poor and deprived families, especially women, children and SC/ST communities, access government schemes, health care, education and skills.
WCWS was started by young volunteers in Cuttack in January 1994 and registered on 23 September 1995 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Its road safety, health and child labour work has been supported by the Government of India and the Government of Odisha.
Empower the poor and develop their potential; raise the social and economic status of the community, reduce poverty and bring sustainable development, focusing on women, children, SC/ST communities and deprived poor.
A just society free of discrimination, where every person has equal rights regardless of caste, creed, sex or religion.
Improve the quality of life of deprived people, with emphasis on women, children and youth.
WCWS is governed by an Executive Body. The General Secretary is the Chief Functionary and runs day-to-day work. An Advisory Committee of experts in health, law, social work, science, environment and road safety guides policy and planning.
National Road Safety Week, seminars, health check-ups and eye tests for drivers across Odisha. WCWS is a member of the District Road Safety Committee, Cuttack and the European Road Safety Charter.
Special learning centre in Cuttack for child-labour students, offering education, nutrition, health care and vocational training.
Health camps, HIV/AIDS and malaria awareness, bed-net impregnation drives and sanitation programmes.
Awareness rallies and public hearings; participation in the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, Cuttack chapter.
Gender education, unwanted-pregnancy awareness and peer groups for young people.
Skills, health and awareness for women and girls and formation of self-help groups.
Career guidance, counselling, career melas, youth wellness and Fit India training with Nehru Yuva Kendra.
Oil and gas conservation activities and school competitions with the Petroleum Conservation Research Association, Eastern Region.

A community radio station at Sanbisol in Mayurbhanj district. Its inaugural ceremony was held on 2 October 2023. WCWS publishes annual reports; the 2024–25 report was released in December 2025, followed by a station profile in February 2026.

Leads WCWS since its beginning. Serves on Cuttack district bodies including Road Safety, SC/ST and bonded-labour vigilance, MTP and Rogi Kalyan Samiti committees. She is Joint Secretary of the Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents and a Life Member of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha Branch.
Training includes child rights, micronutrients, adolescent girls, early childhood care and child labour. Speaks Odia, Hindi and English.
